Description:
A collection of Baroque opera arias sung by Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenbergi. Her repertoire ranges widely from leading roles in operas by Rossini, Mozart, Gluck, Handel, Vivaldi, Monteverdi, Purcell, Bizet, and Massenet, as well as works by Mahler, Chausson, and Waxman; however, her contributions to Baroque opera are particularly remarkable, with appearances on more than 30 albums. This album primarily features arias from operas based on “Agrippina,” a member of the imperial family of the Julio-Claudian dynasty of the Roman Empire, and 12 of the 16 tracks are world premiere recordings. She showcases not only her vocal versatility but also her enchanting voice—delicate, brilliant, and deeply expressive—allowing listeners to fully appreciate her interpretation, which is perfectly suited to these works. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) are world premiere recordings Sony Music
