Jon Hopkins, who has been pursuing the infinite possibilities of electronic music and attracting a wide range of music fans from dance music to indie rock, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his masterpiece "Immunity" released in 2013 by releasing a 10th anniversary edition of the album with all remastered tracks and 9 additional bonus tracks! The album was a masterpiece that topped the charts of numerous music media outlets throughout the year, including XLR8R at #1 and Crack Magazine at #2. It is no exaggeration to say that it was the culmination of his career up to that point, and at the same time, a turning point that would lead to his subsequent evolution, including "Music For Psychedelic Therapy" in 2021.Known as an accomplished producer, Iver Novello Award-nominated film music writer, and collaborator with Brian Eno and Coldplay, he released Immunity, the most aggressively dance music-focused album of his career at the time, Immunity" defined his image and reputation as a solo artist. This album was never intended only for techno fans, but was created, according to the artist himself, with the intention of reaching listeners in various states of mind. From the graceful and melancholy piano sounds to the haunting drone harmonies, he is constantly searching for new approaches to melody and perfecting the supreme electronica sound, while at the same time incorporating glitchy noises and unique bass sounds and beats to create a unique sound that is a masterpiece of an electronic album born in the '10s. The unique bass sound and beats, which also incorporated glitch noise, earned this album a reputation as one of the best electronic albums of the decade. In addition to the standard 2CD release, a limited edition 2LP purple vinyl version will also be available for import. Immunity was written between late 2010 and early 2012. I took care of every element and put everything I had into it. This work changed my life.Before that, we were playing venues for 500 people, but in less than a year we were playing venues for 5,000 people. Everything happened like a whirlwind, and since then I have been able to freely surrender myself to any creative approach. Making and releasing this piece was a very special experience. I had never remastered anything I had made before, but I often wondered what "Immunity" would sound like if I mastered it loudly. Guy Davey, who worked on the original, pulled out the sound files before mastering and tried to take a more subtle approach. But soon I felt that we lost the sense of "pressure" that is an important feature of the album, especially demonstrated in the heavier songs. From there, I suddenly became wary of making changes to something that people were already accustomed to and considered important. So, while returning to the original settings, I added a subtle expander at the end to make the sound a bit more open. As a result, I felt that an exquisite margin was created, while retaining the hardness and intensity of the previous sound.This project also gave me the opportunity to play on Guy's EMI desk for the first time at the 96khz frequency. - Jon Hopkins
