The 10th SACD hybridization of the latest reissue project of ETERNA's original analog tapes in Japan, Herbert Koegel's (1920.7.29-90.11.20) masterpieces for Eterna in the 1970s, Orff's Trionfi Trilogy, are now available on SACD for the first time in the world. Only "Carmina Burana" was recorded in stereo in 1960, also on Eterna (reissued as 0301289BC in April 2019 on this project), but the other two works were first recordings. Since their release, these recordings have reigned as the reigning champion of the Old East, alongside the DG Jochum recordings from the West at the time, and are highly regarded even today as representative recordings of Kegel. In contrast to the global reputation of the Jochum disc, this is a recording of the total power of the former East Germany, achieved by performers who had a local sound and a sincere attitude toward music at that time.
