Salzburg Easter Festival 2021 postponed to October, Thielemann & Staatskapelle Dresden's divine "Valkyrie" The Salzburg Easter Festival was scheduled for April 2021, but was cancelled due to the new coronavirus. The festival has been scaled down and will be held from the end of October. This is a recording by ORF of a concert held on October 31 at the Salzburg Grand Festival Theater, in which Thielemann led the Staatskapelle Dresden in a performance of Wagner's "Die Walküre". The Salzburg Easter Festival was founded by Karajan in 1967, and Thielemann has served as artistic director since 2013; in 2017, the festival celebrated its 50th anniversary with a performance of "Die Walküre," which was released on DVD on the C major label. This year's concert performance of Act I of "Die Walküre" will be performed by Anya Kampe's Sieglinde, Stefan Gould's Siegmund, and René Parpe's Hunding. In addition, three orchestral numbers from "Götterdämmerung" and "Brünnhilde's Self-Sacrifice" sung solo by Anya Kampe will be fully enjoyed by the audience. The stormy applause after the performance conveys the audience's enthusiasm.Interestingly, at the end of Disc 2, as a bonus track, you can enjoy two scenes from the rehearsal.
