Master Barenboim's piano concerto playing! Horn Concerto by Principal Babolak! The "Berliner Philharmoniker's European Concert 2006" on Blu-ray on the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth! The annual "Berliner Philharmoniker's European Concert" on May 1 began in 1991, 200 years after Mozart's death, at the Smetana Hall of the Prague City Hall, conducted by Abbado. Since then, this is the second time that Prague has been chosen as the venue for the concert, and the 2006 concert will be held at the Estate Theatre, where Mozart himself conducted the first performance of "Don Giovanni" in 1787. The 2006 concert will be an all-Mozart program, as was the case with the first concert in 1991.Barenboim, who will conduct the Berlin Philharmonic, is a regular at this concert, appearing as conductor in 1992 and 1997, and as pianist in 1994 and 2004, making this his fifth appearance. The master's masterful interaction with the orchestra is unique, as is evident in the piano concerto recorded with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1989, which he also played with the orchestra. The two symphonies are elegant and dazzlingly beautiful, and it is interesting to compare them with the "Haffner," which was also performed by Abbado in 1991. The horn concerto played by Babolak, who was the orchestra's principal horn player at the time of the recording, is a masterpiece.
