Pavel Gomtsiakov, a master cellist representing the new generation of Russian cellists, whose talent was highly acclaimed by Dumay, Piris, and Gergiev, is now playing Haydn's Haydn on the famous Stradivarius instrument owned by King Luis I of Portugal in 1725. He plays Haydn's cello concertos on a Stradivarius made in 1725, a famous instrument said to have belonged to King Luis I of Portugal! The Stradivarius made in 1725 was strictly forbidden to leave the Musical Museum of Lisbon, Portugal. It was thought to be difficult to use for recording, but thanks to the efforts of the Gulbenkian Foundation and the Lisbon Music Museum, it was transported to the recording venue under the protection of armed police officers, and the recording was realized, so one cannot help but have high expectations for the tone of this famous instrument! The Haydn concertos are performed by Gomziakov on a famous instrument that has never been heard outside of the concert hall.A must-have topic! Tokyo M-Plus
