Bloc Party is back with a new album "ALPHA GAMES", their first album in 6 years! The most evolved album in the band's history, the album is a return to their roots and contains sounds that they would never have been able to create in the early stages of their career. Bloc Party, a four-piece band from London, has been making their way out of the UK rock scene in the 2000s, selling more than one million albums worldwide. They are releasing a new album for the first time in six years. The album is titled "ALPHA GAMES". After releasing their last album "HYMNS" in 2016, they performed their debut album "SILENT ALARM" live in 2018 and 2019 to high acclaim. Rumors of a new album began to whisper about them in January 2020, when frontman Kelly Okereke posted on social media that he was working on songs for the album and postponed his own solo tour. Then, in September of this year, the band began posting photos on their official Twitter page of songs and the recording process for their upcoming new album. As fans' anticipation grew, "Traps," the first single from the album, was released on November 23.With noisy guitars reminiscent of the post-punk sound of their debut and sharply sarcastic lyrics by Kelly Okereke, this is one song that could be called a return to their roots. The song was produced by Nick Launay & Adam Greenspan (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, IDLES). From the moment 'Traps' came out, I knew it was the first song I wanted people to hear on the album; we played it at a soundcheck on the last tour when it was still unfinished, but once I saw how it sounded in big venues and outdoors, I knew I had to do it," says Okereke of the song.
