A collection of sonatas for viola and harpsichord by Danish viola player Mariee Stokmer Beker and Italian harpsichordist Ilaria Macedonio. Having already released a collection of J.S. Bach's works, the two discovered and recorded these pieces when they turned their attention to his son's generation. These works are a beacon to later classical music. Mariee Stokmer Beker is the Assistant Principal Viola of the Basel Sinfonietta, an orchestra specializing in contemporary music, and is active in various orchestral and chamber music scenes, playing both contemporary and historical instruments. Ilaria Macedonio was born in Italy to a family of musicians. After graduating from the Accademia di Musica Brichciardi in Terni (Italy), she also studied at the Danish Music Academy in Copenhagen and the Royal College of Music in London, and has performed with many ensembles as an outstanding passive bass player.
