Music of the Private Concert Association" Vol. 4! Mahler No. 4" in chamber music version! The "Private Performance Society" was founded by Schoenberg in 1918 to perform symphonies and orchestral works arranged for chamber music. Henk Guitart, a specialist of the New Vienna School of Music who founded the Schoenberg Ensemble and participated in many recordings as a violist of the Schoenberg Quartet, and Gruppo Montebello, an ensemble project by Guitart, will perform various chamber music arranged by Schoenberg's friends and This interesting series features various chamber music versions arranged by his pupils and recreates the music of the "Private Performance Society" in a contemporary setting. The fourth program features Mahler's "Symphony No. 4" and "Songs for a Lost Child" arranged for chamber ensemble. Symphony No. 4 was arranged by Erwin Stein (1885-1958), a Viennese composer and friend of Schoenberg who, as one of the main members of the "Private Performance Society," arranged symphonies by Mahler, Bruckner, Debussy, and others into small ensemble versions.Songs for a Lost Child" is an arrangement by Dutch composer Reinbert de Leeuw (b.1938), who teaches at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and is also active as a pianist and conductor, performing mainly contemporary music. De Leeuw is the founder of the "Dutch Charles Ives Society" and also founded the Schoenberg Ensemble in 1974 with Henk Guitart and others. Tokyo M-Plus
