Description:

The ambitious "Music for the Prix de Rome" by the genius Niquet. The second work of this series features the young Saint-Saëns! Hervé Nicquet, a genius of French Baroque music, has created a sensation with his "Music for the Prix de Rome - Debussy" (GCD 922206), which features modern French music and modern orchestral music. As a sequel to "Music for the Prix de Rome," Hervé Nicquet chose Saint-Saëns, who, like Debussy, was a standard-bearer of the 19th century French musical world! Unlike Debussy, who won the prize at his second attempt in 1884, Saint-Saëns had never won the Prix de Rome, having been unsuccessful at his first attempt in 1852 at the age of 16 and his second attempt 12 years later in 1864 at the age of 28. However, the works composed by the young Saint-Saëns, a child prodigy of 19th century France, during his quest to win the Prix de Rome (1852-1864) were recognized by his contemporaries and audiences, even if not by the Prix de Rome jury, and were important cornerstones of his later career as "Saint-Saëns the great composer. The works are all important works that laid the foundation for the future "great composer Saint-Saëns". Hervé Nicquet, a genius, tells the story of the composers who won the Prix de Rome through music. The music of the young Saint-Saens, who kept the traditional style, now shines forth. Tokyo M-Plus
