La Serenissima, a period ensemble founded 21 years ago in 1994 by Adrian Chandler, one of Britain's foremost baroque violinists. The Vivaldi specialists, who have produced a series of world premiere recordings of the red-haired priest and his contemporaries' unknown and rediscovered works, have finally recorded "The Four Seasons"! Chandler and La Serenissima have shown extraordinary enthusiasm and commitment to this project by completing the "Chandler Edition," the latest revision of the score based on the "Manchester Manuscript" of 1726, for their own performance and recording of "The Four Seasons. This is truly the one and only Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" by Chandler & La Serenissima.In addition to his own revision of "The Four Seasons," Chandler recorded "RV.311" and "RV.221," the "world premiere recordings" using the lost "Tromba Marina-style Violin," an ancient instrument from Vivaldi's time. The true nature of Vivaldi's two concertos is revealed through the use of these fantastic instruments, which were used in Vivaldi's time but have faded into the shadows of history due to changes in time and performance style.
