The young Russian maestro Vasily Petrenko has had a brilliant success story, becoming the youngest Principal Conductor in the history of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2006. In 2009, Petrenko was promoted to the position of Chief Conductor and his contract was extended until 2015. In 2007, he was named Young Artist of the Year by Gramophone magazine, and was selected as principal conductor of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, making him one of the hottest young conductors in the world today! Petrenko, who has absolute confidence in Russian works, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will perform two titles from the "Rachmaninoff Series": "Piano Concertos" and "Symphonic Dances". The "Piano Concertos No. 2 & No. 3" features the world-class pianist Szymon Trpceski from Macedonia, a small country in the former Yugoslavia! Making his first appearance on Avie, Trpceski is a young pianist prodigy who has performed with many master pianists, including Zinman, Maazel, Dutoit, and Noseda.In Japan, Trpčeski has already given a superb performance with Kazushi Ohno and the New Japan Philharmonic in 2006, and his performance already has an air of dignity, having overcome the turmoil caused by the collapse of the former Yugoslav federation.
