Rattle's French program is a masterpiece of the LSO's skillful balancing of sound between parts. The DVD and Blu-ray are being released as a set. The video director is François-René Martin, with Rattle officially taking over as music director in September 2017. The LSO Live has already released Schumann's Paradise and Peri (LSO 0782), which is widely recognized for its good chemistry and reliability.The orchestral version of Ravel's "Couperin's Tomb" requires extreme virtuosity, especially on the oboe, but Principal The orchestral version of Ravel's "Couperin's Tomb" requires superb technique, especially on the oboe. Dutilleux's "The Tree of Dreams" was commissioned by Radio France for I. Stern and the Orchestre National de France, composed between 1983 and 1985, and premiered in 1985. The virtuoso Kavakos and the LSO deployed the work with superb concentration, depicting the process of continuous increase, like a tree growing branches and leaves. Metabole" takes the form of a variation on a Debussy-inspired sound, and the LSO's sonic mixtures are a delight to behold.Delage's "Four Indian Poems" was composed in 1912 for soprano and chamber ensemble (2 flutes, oboe, 2 clarinets, and string quartet). Delage studied under Ravel and wrote works with an exotic flavor, such as "Haikai. Four Indian Poems," written after a trip to India, is a work that recreates various Indian melodies and rhythmic forms on Western instruments. Julian Bullock's singing also shines in this valuable new recording. The latter part of the program will be the Second Suite from Daphnis and Chloe, a piece Rattle has frequently performed in his repertoire. The LSO responds to Rattle's meticulous conducting without a millimeter of disturbance. ＜Julia Block (soprano) is a soprano from the United States. She is active worldwide with a wide repertoire ranging from opera to songs and chamber music, and from classical to contemporary music. Peter Sellers is her artistic partner.In the summer of 2016, he appeared in Sellers' new production of Saariaho's "The Passion of Simone," to rave reviews. This "Four Indian Poems" by Delage is his LSO debut.
