Description:
Late-blooming soul man Bill Withers followed up his debut with his masterpiece and one of the greatest soul albums of the '70s, "Still Bill," now available in a SACD hybrid edition from Mobile Fidelity. Featuring performances by the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, including James Gadson (ds), the album swirls with organic grooves, including the funky "You're Me" (#2 in the U.S.).The song "Lean On Me," which reached No. 1 in the U.S., was also covered by Club Nouveau in the 1980s. Two live recordings from Carnegie Hall, known for its famous performances, are included as bonus tracks. (Recorded in 1972)
