The new release of "Salome" by Ivo van Hove, the acclaimed director of the 2017 R. Strauss opera by Gatti & Concertgebouw Orchestra, is now available on SACD, BD and DVD! ≪The "Salome" by R. Strauss was performed at the Dutch National Opera in June 2017. This is a new production by the Belgian-born Dutch director Ivo van Hove, one of the hottest names on the current theater scene. Ivo van Hove made a big splash in Tokyo in November 2017 with his stage production of "Othello". The title role will be sung by Swedish soprano Malin Byström. The title role is so important that it could be said that this production depends on the title role. Both her voice and her appearance are superb as the femme fatale, the woman destined to destroy men. The Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Daniele Gatti effectively expressed the sensual beauty of this work and the madness of Salome in their performance. The stage, free of superfluous ornamentation, is a stage where one can realistically feel the sensuality and cruelty of Salome's pure innocence and her desire for Jokanaan's head. King International
