Description:
Outstanding musicianship! The long-awaited masterpiece recording by the brilliant Robin Ticciati! Dvorak's "New World" with Japanese obi and commentary! Robin Ticchiati was born in 1983. The Dvořák recorded on this disc was made at the end of 2013, so he was just 30 years old. 30 is a very young age for a conductor, and usually he is still just starting out. At the age of 26, he was appointed principal conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, a renowned Scottish orchestra, and at 27, he became principal guest conductor of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra performing in this recording. This alone was a surprise, but the year after this recording, he was appointed music director of the prestigious Glyndebourne Music Festival in England. At the time of his appointment, Titiani had just turned 31 years old. But this is no time to be surprised by his age. This young conductor's performance is outstanding. Listening to his playing, one can understand why he achieved international fame at the age of 30. Ticchiati's performance of the Dvořák on this disc is very full and rich. The sound is rich and full of flavor, and the music already has a certain dignity to it. The entire structure of the piece was clearly understood, and he read the score's instructions very carefully. The performance is mature, without letting the momentum of the music get the better of him, but the music has a fresh sensibility that only young and talented musicians can possess. Even when Ticchiati eventually becomes a great conductor, this Dvořák disc will continue to convey the charm of the 30-year-old Ticchiati in an excellent SACD Hybrid recording. Tobu Land System
