Antonio Sanchez has been a major presence in the bands of such greats as Chick Corea, Gary Burton, and Pat Metheny, as well as in his own core group, Migration, in film music, and in the wake of "Birdman or the Unexpected Miracle of Ignorance," in commercials and solo works. Antonio Sánchez's talent spills over into all of his performances, from the music for the commercials of "Birdman" to his solo works, but this is the first time he has collaborated with a big band. This is the first time he has collaborated with a big band. The WDR Big Band is known for its collaborations with such big band stars as Gil Evans, Bill Holman, and Mel Lewis, as well as with the Brecker Brothers, who have performed with Sanchez on many occasions. The WDR Big Band is known for its wide range of performances within the category of jazz, including funk collaborations with the Brecker Brothers and pop contemporary sounds with Jim Beard, as well as collaborations with other big band stars such as Gil Evans, Bill Holman, and Mel Lewis. This album is directed by Vince Mendoza. This album is a chemical reaction between Sanchez and Mendoza's brilliance, and it explodes! In a word, it is a magnificent performance that is delicate, precise, and full of improvisational dynamism. All of the music played is by Antonio Sanchez.Sanchez's music was originally composed with the character and style of the artist in mind, and in addition to the basic elements of melody, harmony, and rhythm, the tone and intensity of the sound were also calculated to a certain extent. Mendoza captures the essence of the music and expresses it in a big band arrangement. The most impressive part of the performance is the second piece, in which the big band performs the music from "Meridian Sweet. Meridian Suite" is literally a magnificent suite of music by Sanchez. The song originally consisted of five parts that were organically connected to form a single narrative, but here the first three parts are completely rearranged and performed by the big band. The original piano intro leads into a minimalist phrase that was expressed with a combination of saxophone and guitar, but is now intertwined with several horns parts, and is full of power and thrills. Of course, Sanchez's drumming that inspires the big band is a must-hear, and the band members play without a break, and the featured soloists' ad-lib performances are also a great treat to hear. Antonio Sanchez and Vince Mendoza are more than just players and arrangers; they are musicians of the highest caliber and taste, and the WDR Big Band is a permanent fixture, each member of which has solid abilities. The performance is the result of the intertwining of all these musicians!
