A tribute album to jazz pianist/singer Mose Allison from Mississippi, USA. Since his solo debut in 1957 with "Back Country Suite," Morse Allison has released over 40 albums, and his songs have been covered by many musicians, including The Who, Johnny Winter, Elvis Costello, The Clash, and Van Morrison. The album, released on Fat Possum Records, features a stellar lineup including Taj Mahal, Jackson Browne, Fiona Apple, Ben Harper, Chrissie Hynde, Iggy Pop, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, and Mose Allison's daughter Amy Morrison. A gorgeous array of people participated in the festival. The wide range of genres in the program shows how influential Mose Allison has been on the music scene, and how great he is. This album will be donated to Sweet Relief, an organization that supports musicians who are unable to perform due to illness or other reasons.
