Hermann Pry (1929-1998) was a famous German baritone. He was active in both operas and lieder, including Mozart, and left behind many excellent recordings. Schubert's (1797-1828) songs occupied the center of his repertoire. He sang "Winterreise" on stage countless times over the 46 years from 1952 until his death in 1998, and was also backed by Hiroyuki Iwashiro and the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa in the orchestral version (1997). recording), and so much effort was put into recording that as of 2016, four different releases can be found in the catalog.
