The Schubert recordings are highly acclaimed for their vivid orchestration with a modern sensibility. Among them, Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major, D.485 (BIS SA-1786) and Symphony No. 8 in B minor "Unfinished", D.759 (BIS SA-1656) were selected as the best one disc in the special issue of Record Geijutsu magazine "Masterpieces of the New Era 500", and are the first among many great discs of the same piece. It is the first of the many masterpieces on the disc. Schubert's symphonies saw the light of day after his death, as they were performed at a memorial concert held on November 19, 1828, a few weeks after his death. The "Great" and "Unfinished" symphonies were premiered in 1838 and 1865, respectively. Symphonies Nos. 1 to 6 were composed between 1813 and 1818. The third symphony, which was influenced by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and other composers, clearly shows Schubert's face as a composer of songs, and has a bright and cheerful atmosphere; the famous fourth symphony, known by the subtitle "tragic"; the fifth, which is said to symbolize rococo and small-town life feelings. Schubert's originality is everywhere in these works. Dausgaard's interpretation with a chamber orchestra is truly one-of-a-kind. The world of Schubert is expressed in a refreshingly clear sound. The duo's recordings are masterpieces!
