In recent years, he has been focusing on recording chamber music repertoire. The album focuses on British music, featuring a century of music for clarinet and piano that reflects the special relationship between British composers and the clarinet. Charles Villiers Stanford (1852~1924) was a great admirer of Brahms. Stanford's music has a calm yet beautiful melody. Gerald Finzi (1901~1956) composed "Five Bagatelles" during World War II, a song-like work. It is a light and moving work reminiscent of Bach's suite of dances. Malcolm Arnold's (1921~2006) Sonatine is an energetic work with elements of jazz and dance music. Joseph Horowitz's (1926~2022) two Majorcan Pieces and Sonatina are playful pieces of music that can only be expressed by the clarinet. The virtuoso Collins takes us on a 100-year journey of British music with the young and upcoming pianist Michael McHale. (King International)
