Zimmermann says, "The Trio is the best ensemble for me." For many years, he had been looking for the best ensemble players, and was so impressed with the playing of the young viola prodigy Antoine Tamusti that Zimmermann personally begged him to form a trio. Together with Tamusti's friend Portela on cello, the trio was formed.Beethoven's String Trios No. 2-4 (BISSA1857/KKC5222), Mozart's Divertimento in E-flat major & Schubert's String Trio No. 1 (BISSA1817/KKC5202) have been highly praised by various magazines including Record Art Special Mention.
