Recorded live at Club Montmartre on the eve of the famous "Flight to Denmark" album, this is a rare recording featuring Eddie Gomez and Johnny Dyani, released on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Duke Jordan's early success was largely due to his work as a member of the Charlie Parker Quintet. After a long hiatus due to the influence of drugs, he resumed his professional career with the support of Danish jazz fans in the 1960s, and has since achieved remarkable success in Europe and Japan. This is a rare live recording made at the famous jazz club Montmartre in the center of Copenhagen on the eve of the "Flight To Denmark" session, which was one of his masterpieces. The evening was a one-night-only gathering of visiting Danish jazz talent, including Bent Jaedik, a young tenor player who would play with Jordan's band through the 1980s, Eddie Gomez, who was visiting Denmark with Bill Evans, and South African bassist Johnny Diani. The recording is so intimate and realistic that you can hear the clapping, talking, and shouting.
