A Norwegian art/organ/psychedelic rock band formed in the late 60's by Ivar Gafseth (organ/p/synth/vo), who later played in TRAVELLIN' STRAWBERRIES, and Erling Mylius (b/per/vo), ex-MISSING LINK, and others. This is the first CD release from Norske Albumklassikere, Norway, of the '77 album released on Mercury in Norway at the time. As the title suggests, this album was specially produced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the band's formation, and is entirely composed of cover songs, a complete change from the previous two albums, which were made up of original compositions.Starting with Stevie Wonder's 'I Was Made To Love Her', followed by BEE GEES'To LoveSomebody', FOUR TOPS'Reach Out, I'll Be There', JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE'Hey Joe', Vanilla Fudge version of 'You Keep Me Hangin' On', PROCOL HARUM'A WhiterShade Of Pale', THE BEATLES'S Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', etc. The album features DIFFERENCE's own unique take on the classic soul/funk/psychedelic songs, with Tore Johansen's wild vocals playing a central role. The arrangement is not so drastically changed compared to the original, and it is basically a work that shows respect for the original.The band's previous album, which was composed entirely of covers, was a stylish reflection of the times, but this album also marks a return to the stylish British psychedelic/pop style of the late 60's when the band debuted. The rustic organ tones in the background, especially on 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale,' convey the band's loveliness in spades! The master was newly remastered from the original master tape by Giert Claussen, the engineer who handles all of the label's releases.
