Description:
This is the second album by the American melodic hard rock band SOLDIER, recorded in the late 1980s. It was produced with a new lineup after the departure of Chris Boudreau, who had been a key figure in the previous album "My Window." At the time, SOLDIER was still active in the Los Angeles club scene (Whisky a Go Go, Roxy, Troubadour, etc.) and their sound was also changing. This album is a bit like the previous album, but with a more melodic sound. This album takes a step forward from the somewhat mellow melodic rock of the previous album and introduces a harder, more driving guitar sound, centered around straight AC/DC-style riffs, with catchy, arena-like songs reminiscent of L.A. metal from the late 1980s, such as KIX, WARRANT, and WHITE LION. and arena-like songs reminiscent of late 80's L.A. metal bands such as KIX, WARRANT, and WHITE LION. The signature songs "Politics Of Rock 'N Roll" and "Popeye" combine tight rhythms and hooky choruses, combining the enthusiasm of a club band with professional compositional skills. The band's "SOLDIER-style evolution of hard rock" is presented with both flamboyance and grit.Ultimately, this work is one that can be positioned as an energetic posthumous work that represents their career.
