Principal Clarinet of the Philharmonia Orchestra! Van de Veer plays Mozart! Born in Northampton, England, and educated at Merton College, Oxford University and the Royal College of Music, clarinetist Mark van de Veer has been principal clarinet of the National Opera of Wales, Glyndebourne Touring Opera, and the London Chamber Orchestra. He is currently at the forefront of the London scene as principal clarinetist of the Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta. The 2013 live recording of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, a timeless masterpiece for clarinet, and the Clarinet Concerto written for Van de Veer by Joseph Phibbs (b.1974), one of the leading contemporary British composers, and premiered in 2017, are Coupling.
