Eraldo Bernocchi, a leading Italian experimental composer/guitarist, and Seiko Yamane, a member of Tangerine Dream and a Japanese violinist living in Berlin, have collaborated on the second analog album following "MUJO". SABI" is taken from the Japanese word "sabi," which means "quietness" in Japanese, and this work expresses in its sound a uniquely Japanese aesthetic that finds beauty in quiet aging and the accompanying changes in appearance. The rhythmically pulsating sequences/electronics of Eraldo Bernocchi and the long-toned violin played by Seiko Yamane overlap each other, and from the soundscape of impermanent echoes that directly relate to the theme of the previous work to the melancholy expression brought out by the nostalgic melodies The soundscape of the album is a fine piece of ambient music that beautifully presents the aesthetics of "sabi" (loneliness).
