Thinking back to a certain era, this album gathers together the wonderful music of four composers who gave the cello a special role, shedding light on the year "1824," a year in which many events took place, including the premiere of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 on the old cello singing at the center of various orchestral arrangements. The high quality of the performances on ancient instruments brings back the atmosphere of the time. This is a piece that offers a variety of cello-based compositions, including a very attractive guitar-accompanied version of the "Arpeggione". Christoph Danger is a master of the ancient instrumental cello who has participated in the project of recording the complete Haydn cycle conducted by Antonini as principal cellist of the Basel Chamber Orchestra, and also plays with Il Giardino armonico, Anima Eterna, Orchestre des Champs Elysées, etc. Harmoniamundi He also plays the continuo cello in the collection of Vivaldi's cello sonatas played by Jean-Guyan Querras, released on the Harmoniamundi label.
