Born in Long Beach, California in 1969, War is a legendary street band that continues to revolutionize the world with a musical style that crosses over genres such as soul, jazz, Latin, funk, R&B, and rock with its diverse ethnic members. The band has broken down racial barriers through their music, gained a wide range of fans, and became one of the leaders of the West Coast funk scene along with Tower of Power and Sly & the Family Stone. In February 2025, they came to Japan to perform at Blue Note Tokyo, where they gave a fantastic performance that captivated the audience. To commemorate their 55th anniversary, the band has been releasing various albums and touring, and now they will be releasing another commemorative album. The new compilation album "THE VERY BEST OF ERIC BURDON & WAR" contains songs from the two albums released in 1970 by Eric Burdon & War, known as one of the most shocking collaborations in music history, as well as three rare and previously unreleased songs.
