Description:

Oleg Marchev Continuous Release! The second volume of Brahms' early piano works! Oleg Marushev, a piano giant from Azerbaijan! The second volume of his long-awaited return to recording is Brahms! Oleg Marushev, a pianist prodigy from Baku, Azerbaijan in the former Soviet Union, is a piano giant who has recorded more than 35 wonderful albums for the Danacord label in Denmark, with whom he has a deep relationship of trust, after turning down numerous offers from major labels. He is a giant of piano music.A return to recording after almost eight years since the simultaneous 2014 releases of Mendelssohn (DACOCD734-736) and Chopin (DACOCD701-702), Brahms follows Ravel (DACOCD903) with a rush release! The album boasts a vast repertoire ranging from rare works such as the piano works of Emil von Sauer, Liszt's late great brother (6 volumes) and the piano concertos of unknown Danish composers (4 volumes) to the masterpieces of the Romantic era such as Brahms, Schubert, Liszt, Chopin, and Mendelssohn, He is also the (perhaps the only) artist to have recorded all of the works for piano and orchestra by the great Russian composers (Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich). This is his first Brahms album since the 2005 release of his early works (DACOCD643/Piano Sonata No. 1, Variations on a Theme by Schumann, and Four Ballads), and this release also features a selection of his early piano works, Op. 2, 4 and 5.These works, composed by the young Brahms between the ages of 18 and 20, and which won Schumann's lifelong friendship and support, are presented with Marscheff's exquisite pianism.
