German violinist Léa Billinger, who has been performing with pianist Esther Billinger as the sister duo (Duo Billinger), has released her first solo album on Rubicon! The album is structured around three partitas: J.S. Bach's great Partita No. 3, the little-known partita of the German academic composer Von Knoll, and the par.ti.ta of Auerbach, a popular composer from Russia. Including unaccompanied violin works by Reger and Ysaÿe, this is a serious program that demands a high level of technique and musicianship. violinist Léa Billinger, who began her international career at the age of 14 with her solo debut at the Berlin Philharmonic, has performed at the Salzburg Festival and the MDR In 2008, she won the top prize at the International Brahms Competition.
