Slowdive drummer Simon Scott and Flying Saucer Attack brain Dave Pierce form the unit Three Quarter Skies! Their debut album "FADE IN" is a strong disc of "shoegaze folk" music. This album was completed with Simon taking the lead in songwriting and recording, and Dave lending his skills in mixing. The album shows Simon at the height of his creativity. The slow-dive style shoegaze of "CROWS" explodes with a world of sweetness that deepens as it unfolds, while "LEAVE A LIGHT ON" is a world dominated by a weird dreaminess akin to a flying saucer attack, and it's all very rich. However, as the cover of Nick Drake's classic "HORN" connects the two, folk elements are placed throughout the album.
