Description:
Vienna was the center of European musical culture in the mid-18th century, and the guitar culture was flourishing. In this album, performers Edin Karamazov and Pavel Steidl have newly arranged three of the most iconic works of the period for two guitars. The guitar has since developed new and more rational techniques with the advent of Talega and Segovia, and the two have arranged the pieces to better effect. The Haydn and Mozart pieces are piano pieces, but the subtle nuances are exquisite, as is the fortepiano. Schubert's works were surprisingly more "eye-opening" because his original instrument, the arpeggione, is inherited from the guitar. Despite the extreme difficulty of the piece, Karamazov and Steidl give a superb performance. King International
