Steely Dan is a band at the top of the American AOR scene. When Walter Becker passed away suddenly in 2017, the remaining Donald Fagen announced that they would continue their activities and released a live album in 2019, but are currently inactive. This rare live archive of Donald Fagen, songwriter & vocalist for Steely Dan, is now available on CD! In 2006, Donald Fagen released his third solo album "Morph The Cat" (No.26 on the US album chart). He then embarked on a 19-show tour of small concert halls in North America only. The New York concert on March 7 was recorded and broadcast as a TV/FM program on PBS (in the U.S.) as part of the promotion, and this album is a live album based on the sound sources used for the broadcast. This album contains the complete set list of his two solo albums, two songs from his new album, and one song by Steely Dan. The live performance with the backing band, which has also participated in Steely Dan's tours, is different from that of Steely Dan. Also, "Year of the Dragon," which is not included on the album, features a special guest appearance by Canadian female singer/songwriter Martha Wainwright, just as on the studio number.
