He made his debut in 1973 as the vocalist of Montrose, and after leaving the band, he became a solo artist. In 1985, Sammy Hagar joined Van Halen and led the band to greater success. In 1984, he released "VOA," which reached No. 32 on the U.S. album charts and was a platinum disc. Over the next two years, the band performed 89 shows on the "VOA Tour" exclusively in the United States. The concert in Detroit, Michigan on October 12, 1984 was recorded and broadcast for a program on WILZ-FM (in the US). This live album is a live recording of the concert, including the encores.
