Description:
Emotional Schumann masterpieces by Italian piano virtuoso CatenaThis is the second in the series of "Schumann Piano Works" recorded by Italian piano virtuoso Costantino Catena, who began recording in 2012. This album was recorded in 2016-18 at the Museo di St. Croce in Umbertide, Umbria, Italy, known for its excellent acoustics and many famous recordings, and focuses on works by Schumann in his 20s. He has won numerous prizes in national and international competitions and has been invited to perform at major musical and cultural organizations, institutions, and festivals. In recent years, he participated in a performance of all piano works organized in Rome in 2011 by the Conservatory of St. Cecilia, the Chigiana Conservatory, and the Liszt Society to commemorate the bicentennial of the birth of Liszt. In the field of chamber music, he has performed with Alessandro Carbonare (cl), Franco Maggio Olmeczowski, Gabriele Geminiani, Maja Bogdanovic, Claudio Casadi (vc), Michele Romuto (tb), Sashiko Gavrilov, Sabrina-Vivian Hebker ( vn), Lynn Dawson (sop), Claudio Brizi (org), Savinio SQ, and others.
