The immortal anime masterpiece "Genma Taisen" is now on Blu-ray! Katsuhiro Otomo of "AKIRA", who introduced Japanimation to the world, made his first attempt at character design in a film, and this is the first Otomo anime and the first Kadokawa film animation. It was also screened in the U.S. and became an opportunity for Japanese-made animation to attract worldwide attention! Directed by Rintaro, the master of "The Galaxy Express 999," based on the popular comic by Kazumasa Hirai (original idea) and Shotaro Ishimori (art). The climax scene was drawn by animator Isao Kaneda, who passed away in July 2009 at the age of 57. Popular actors such as Tomoyo Harada, Akihiro Miwa, and Toru Emori participated in voice acting. The music director is Keith Emerson of the popular 70's rock band ELP. --Luna, a Transylvanian princess and an esper, decides to join forces with the cosmic consciousness Froi and the cyborg soldier Vega to start a battle to protect the earth from the "phantom demons," who are bent on world domination. Luna decides to gather psychics from all over the world to fight against the Genma. Meanwhile, a Japanese high school student, Azuma Takeshi, is provoked by Vega to develop his previously undiscovered psychic ability, but a "phantom" appears before him... Commentary enclosed.
