Description:

Imported Japanese version with Japanese commentary and Japanese song titles. Contents Arensky: 12 Preludes, Op.63 Rachmaninoff: 10 Preludes, Op.23 Ravel:Prelude in A minor, M.65 Gershwin:3 Preludes Performers Yuki Negishi (Piano) Born in Tokyo, Japan, graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music, Amsterdam Conservatory, and Royal College of Music, and currently lives in London. In June 2020, Yuko Negishi will present a one-month series of daily social media clips of performances by known female composers, and has been recognized for her unique and remarkable activities in the Corona Disaster, including being named one of the Top 5 pianists in the UK's Pianist magazine, alongside Mitsuko Uchida and Angela Hewitt in recitals. Following her solo debut album "Enigma" (QTZ2139), released in 2022 to rave reviews from Gramophone, International Piano, and Record Arts magazines, this new recording is released on the Quartz label in the UK.The collection focuses on the "Preludes" of four composer-pianists who interacted with and influenced each other from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Anton Arensky was one of Sergei Rachmaninoff's teachers when he entered the Moscow Conservatory, and is considered to have been influenced by Arensky in his musical development, especially in his early style. George Gershwin (Gershwin) and Rachmaninoff, who had defected to the United States, admired each other and reportedly played the piano together. Gershwin and Maurice Ravel also respected each other, and Gershwin wanted to study composition under him, but Ravel, while recognizing Gershwin's unique talent and reputation, refused, saying, "Why should I be a second-rate Ravel when I can be a first-rate Gershwin? He did not accept Gershwin's unique talent and fame, but he did not accept Ravel. Recording: June 1-2, 2023, St. George's Headstone Church (London) Instrument used: Steinway model (Tokyo M-Plus)
