Description:

Violinist of the Paris Opera Orchestra. Risa Oshima's second Prokofiev! After working with the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany, violinist Risa Oshima is currently based at the Orchestre de l'Opera de Paris (Orchestre National de l'Opera de Paris) and is active as a soloist and chamber musician in a wide variety of activities throughout Europe.Fast forward a few years after his debut solo album "Prokofiev's Violin Works" (QTZ2119), released in 2017 to rave reviews in Record Art, Gramophone UK and elsewhere, and with support from the foundation bearing the name of Prokofiev's son and painter, Oleg Prokofiev The recording of Prokofiev's remaining violin works has also been realized! In the previous recording, Prokofiev's multifaceted nature was beautifully expressed through "Violin Sonata No. 1", arrangements from the ballets "Cinderella" and "Romeo and Juliet", and "Five Melodies", while this recording features "Violin Sonata No. 2" arranged for violin from the flute sonata, as well as a new version of "Violin Sonata No. 3" by Risa Oshima, with a new arrangement of the "Violin Sonata No. 4" by Risa Oshima. The "Sonata for Two Violins" with Thomas Zehetmayr, Risa Oshima's teacher, and the "Sonata for Solo Violin, Op.115", which was composed "for unison of several violins", are performed in two versions: a solo version by Risa Oshima and a two-violin version arranged by Zehetmayr. The program is extremely "challenging" and includes two versions: a solo version by Risa Oshima and a version for two violins arranged by Zoetmaier.Risa Oshima studied music at Toho Girls' High School and completed the Soloist Diploma Course at Toho Gakuen School of Music. She studied under Felix Andrievsky and Thomas Zehetmeyer at the Royal College of Music Graduate School in England. While at the same graduate school, she was awarded the Yehudi Menuhin Prize, the first woman to receive the prize, and graduated at the top of her class with the highest score ever. After serving as guest concertmaster of the Halle Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, she joined the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic Orchestra in 2002, and in 2003 joined the Orchestre National de l'Opera de Paris, mainly at the Paris Opera, but also as guest principal with the London Philharmonic Orchestra He has performed extensively, including tours to the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and subscription performances at the Royal Festival Hall.
