Love is a Magician" is a masterpiece by Falla, known for his "Dance of the Fire Festival. Although based on a libretto by Martínez Sierra, this passionate music was not well received at its premiere. Therefore, Falla made large-scale revisions, including changing the order of the pieces and increasing the size of the orchestra, and first created a suite for concert performances, which was a great success. The suite was then revised as a whole for the ballet, which was performed in 1925. This album contains the first draft version performed by a chamber orchestra, and the powerful singing is matched by a lively accompaniment.
