Vivaldi at the peak of his career celebrated the marriage of King Louis XV of France in a secret work. Serenata, including "The Four Seasons," Op. 8. In 1725, when Vivaldi published his Op. 8 cycle including "The Four Seasons," his fame was not only in Italy but also in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, France, and other countries. The French ambassador to Venice at the time was a great admirer of Vivaldi's skills, and the week after Louis XV welcomed Maria, daughter of King Stanisław I of Poland, as queen, he invited all the important people of Venice to a grand banquet where the entertainment was a new work by the great European composer, "Gloria et Imeneo The next week, I was invited to perform Vivaldi's new work, "Gloria and Imeneo," as an entertainment for the banquet. The composer, perhaps out of necessity to respond to an urgent request, limited his composition to strings and two solo singers, and adapted the music from a number of existing works.Nevertheless, the musical flow of the Italian lyrics, in which two allegorical figures from an ancient myth celebrate the marriage of the French royal family, is very natural and full of ups and downs, and together with the ambitious performance by Prevnjak and others, the songs sound extremely fresh. The two countertenors, who are at the forefront of the European music scene, are also superb in their performance. To make up for the lack of an overture, this recording also includes a concerto without a solo part at the beginning. Together with the short cantata at the end of the recording, it is a reminder of the composer's versatility and compositional sense. Naxos Japan
