Wolfgang Brunner, a conductor who specializes in works from the 17th to the early 19th century, and the Salzburg Hofmusik, which he founded in 1991. They have previously recorded a collection of concertos for winds, the opera "Dreams," "The Truth of Nature," and other unknown works by Michael Haydn, and this album also features two of his works: the Zingspiel "The Fallen Ear" and the cantata "Ninfe in belli" from 1765. The "Fallen Ear" is a zingspiel written in 1778 for the Kremsmunster Abbey Theatre in Austria. It tells the story of poor Emilie, who picks up fallen corn seeds and is accused of being a thief, until she is saved. Enjoy the beautiful ensemble of singers including Monika Mauch. On the other hand, "Ninfe in belli" is a cantata for the occasion of Princess Josepha of Bavaria's stay at the Lambach Abbey on January 19, 1765. The soprano Maria Magdalena Lipp, who later became Michael Haydn's wife, is presumed to have sung the solo in this gorgeous work.Maria Radulner, a young soprano who studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, sings beautifully.
