British composer Adam Gove began composing at the age of 10, graduating at the top of his class from Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music. After graduation, he worked as a lecturer at the University of London and the Royal College of Music, and has been teaching at the Royal Northern College of Music since 2000. Although Gove is mainly known for his wind band works, the album contains "24 Preludes" for piano, following the examples of Chopin and Shostakovich. You can enjoy the world of miniatures colored by various moods. Placed last is "Velocity," written in 2014 for performer Claire Hammond, a tense, six-minute short piece inspired by the 1994 film "Speed." Clare Hammond is a young player who won the Royal Philharmonic Society's Young Artist Award in 2016.
