This album contains mainly vocal works by Italian composers active in the "Seicento=1600s. The ensemble "Los Musicos de los Artesas Musiciens", which usually devotes itself to works from this period, has avoided fads and artificial elements in performance style, respecting only the rhetorical and dramatic discourse contained in the texts without pretension, and faithfully reproducing the general score of the period, with the album's title in Latin "QVID EST VERITAS" (What is the truth? As the title of the album's title says in Latin, "QVID EST VERITAS" (What is truth?), each player's interpretation is based on information provided by musicological research and their own intuition and experience, resulting in a unique performance. Olayla Alemán, a soprano from Murcia, has been singing with the local children's choir since she was 10 years old, and later studied singing at the Manuel Masotti Littell Conservatory in Murcia and the Teresa Berganza Conservatory in Madrid. Since 2005, she has been a regular member of Los Musicos de S. Arteja. Luis Antonio González, who heads the ensemble, is a keyboardist and conductor dedicated to the presentation of Spanish music of the 17th and 18th centuries.He is especially appreciated for his revival of José Luis de Samaniego's works.
