Paradizo's naturalistic recordings of Rameau's keyboard instrumental character on the instruments of his makers, which were beloved by the great master Leonhardt, are brilliant on this clavecin (harpsichord) album. The album features a selection of Rameau's masterpieces from his four keyboard collections, which can be considered the equivalent of Ravel if Couperin was the Debussy of the 18th century. The works from the "Clavusan Ensembles," in which the solo clavusan is accompanied by violin and viola da gamba, are performed by two clavusans in perfect harmony with Olivier Fortin. How will they develop their individuality? This is a disc in which you can enjoy the wordless world of sound creation of Rameau, who later became a great master of "operas that are not silent plays. The included DVD is a dual disc with both NTSC and PAL versions, so when playing it, place it in the player with the side labeled "NTSC" facing up. Naxos Japan
