The third volume of the popular "Mozart by Arrangement" series on the Toccata label, which has been attracting attention by introducing unknown composers and their works, is a collection of arrangements for organ of various works. Before the advent of modern recording technology, the best way to learn the music of the great masters was to play it yourself. For this reason, arranged versions of popular composers became popular in the early 19th century. These were mostly for solo piano or for duet, and Mozart's works were especially popular. Zechter, the composer and arranger shown here, was a composer and organist who studied under Salieri. Nefe was Beethoven's piano teacher. Another interesting arrangement is "Ave Verum Corpus" by Liszt. Along with the traditional arrangements of the time, you can also enjoy the world view of the modern advanced arrangements by organist Bianchini, who is the performer of this recording. Naxos Japan
