In this fourth volume of the popular series "Strauss Family Composers of the Same Period", you can enjoy even more unusual works than ever before. The period from the end of the 19th century to the 1920s was a time of rapid changes in musical styles, but familiar pieces such as waltzes and gallops remained popular in the salons, and many composers created new works one after another. Unfortunately, the two world wars destroyed much of the material, and these works have since been forgotten and never performed. The present recordings are based on scores that have been restored through the diligent research of conductor Georgiadis, and are a precious reminder of the glamorous salons of that time in Europe.
