Flee / Extra Muros, an emerging French label/curator that was also involved in remix projects of Kenyan benga and Italian ritual music, has created a one-of-a-kind compilation with Jaco Eino Kalevi, Nabiha Iqbal, and others contributing gems of exclusive co-produced cuts. compilation. ExtraMuros is a curator of so-called "artist-in-residence" programs that support artists' long-term stays and creative activities in different cultural regions. This is a compilation release of their latest project in Switzerland. Five artists from various backgrounds were brought together by ExtraMuros. With the cooperation of the Museum of Ethnology in Geneva, known as a treasure trove of world folk music along with the Okola and Smithsonian museums, they accessed the museum's collection of traditional instruments, vintage electronic equipment, and field recordings from around the world, drawing inspiration from and actually using the equipment, The music was written in collaboration with the museum.The resulting album, "Extra Muros - Switzerland," is a compilation of 12 songs. The album contains exotic melodies and tones, 80s-style synths and dance beats, ambient and dub, a perfect balance of electronics and acoustics, experimental yet listener-friendly, and each song radiates an unparalleled brilliance that transcends time and place.
