This is the best album by the French New Wave band "Les Rita Mitsko," known for the hit "Marcia Baila" produced by Connie Plank and "Les Amants" used in the movie "Pont Neuf's Lover. Les Rita Mitsouko is a French new wave band consisting of guitarist Fred Sichamp and vocalist Catherine Ringer, who also works as an actress. The band was popular across genres and generations, but Red passed away in 2007, and Catherine is now a solo artist. The band debuted in 1984 with "Rita Mitsouko," produced by Connie Plank, and the single "Marcia Baila" from that album became a hit, reaching No. 2 on the French national charts. The second album, "The No Comprendo" (1986), also produced by Tony Visconti, was also a hit. The third album, "Marc & Robert", featured the collaboration with Sparks on "Singing In The Shower", which was also a hit in the U.S. The fourth album, "Systeme D" (1986), was also a hit in the U.S. The fourth album, "Systeme D" (1993), includes "Les Amants," the theme song for the movie "The Lovers of Pont Neuf.Thirty-five years after their debut, a best-of album that sums up their career is now being released by Bico's Music in Paris, the current distributor of Catherine's solo work. Catherine supervised the song selection and remastering. A DVD (note: PAL format) with tour movies is included. This is a must-have for fans of the band, covering every hit and signature song, including "Marcia Baila," "Singing In The Shower," "Les Amants," and the songs from their last album, "Variety.
