The long-awaited return of New Sounds in Brass, a series that has continued to mark the history of brass band CDs since 1972 and has had a major impact on the brass band scene since then! The series is based on the concept of "fun pop music for brass band," and features bold arrangements and powerful sound by a large brass band of well-selected masterpieces from a wide range of genres. Naowasu Iwai (1923-2014), who sadly passed away in 2014, has had a great impact on the brass band scene every year through the release of one work per year. Taking over from Naohsu Iwai, "New Sounds in Brass" is arranged and conducted by composer Masamichi Amano (1957-), who has also composed and arranged many pieces for brass band orchestration. In this work, he is in charge of arranging "Mambo Medley," a brass band arrangement of Mambo No. 5, Miami Beach Rumba, and Mambo No. 8 by Pérez Prado, who created the mambo boom in the 1950s.Also noteworthy is the inclusion of a brass band arrangement of "Welcome to the Tokyo III jazz club" by Miho Hasama and Masamichi Amano from an album of jazz arrangements by Miho Hasama of the "Evangelion" series TV/theater version soundtracks.
